College Day 2015

A Brief Report

The Annual college day celebrations of St.Joseph’s Pre University Evening College was celebrated on 17 January 2015 at the St.Joseph’s Boys high school auditorium.

Mr Abdul Ahad, an IPS officer & additional superintendent of Police for Rural Bangalore was the Chief Guest for the evening. The function was presided over by Rev.Fr.Anthony Joseph SJ, Rector, St.Joseph’s Institutions; and the occasion was graced by Fr.Maxim Dias SJ, Principal St.Joseph’s pu evening college.

The evening began with an Invocation song by our college choir, followed by the tradition of lighting of the lamp. The Welcome speech was rendered by Dr.Nagendra G B, extending a warm welcome to all the guests.

As the practice goes, the College Annual report was presented by the Principal, which was a brief up of all the activities of the college for the academic year 2014-2015. This included all the achievements of our students, our staff accomplishments, the programmes that took place within the college and also our several external representations.

This was followed by the speech of the chief guest for the evening. In his speech he gladly addressed the audience as “extra ordinary people”, referring to our students as they go an extra mile in their process to learn inspite of all their hardships. He also conveyed a beautiful message of how harwork & perseverance always brings fruits through an interesting story that won the hearts of all our studens & staff.

Fr Rector conveyed his encouraging message by imbibing values among our students. In his speech he expressed his dreams of forming armies of young men & women imbibed with values of honesty, integrity, sincerity, accountability & transparency. The talk aimed at making better citizens for our country.

After this began the cultural programmes. Dance & skit performances by our students, both boys & girls that witnessed an enthusiastic welcome & reverberance among the audience.

This was followed by the prize distribution for various strata like subject proficiency, 100% attendance, best sports person of the year & various achievements, both academic & extra curricular activities.

Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr Govindaraju followed by the National Anthem.
