STAFF ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2022

Orientation program for the staff was organised on 11 June 2022 by the SAMAGRA team. The program began with a prayer and it was rendered by Ms. Nirma D'Souza and team. Later the orientation session began with a formal welcome note to Fr. Brian Pereira SJ, the rector and Director, SAMAGRA. Rev Fr. Roshan Pereira SJ, the Director, SJPUEC and Mr. Victor Anthony, the Principal, SJPUEC were welcomed.
Rev Fr. Brian Pereira SJ, the rector and Director, SAMAGRA, the resource person, started the orientation with an ice-breaking session. The teachers were asked to know each other by introducing themselves and later they were asked the reason for joining the teaching profession. The resource person emphasised the process of INTROSPECTION, REFLECTION and ACTION. Each participant opined about this process and it was also stressed that the context and concept should not be in isolation. Teachers should understand the context. Teachers were told to share their strengths and weaknesses and the SWOT analysis was done. Dr. Rekha, the Assistant Director-SAMAGRA, also contributed her expertise in this program.
There was an overall involvement of all participants. It had enabled them to understand the needs of the Evening College students and explored the areas for further improvement. It was also suggested by the teachers that workshops like classroom management, stress management and time management can be conducted in future. The SAMGRA team assured that such workshops will be conducted in future.
The staff orientation concluded with a formal vote of thanks. Rev Fr. Brian Pereira SJ, the rector and Director, SAMAGRA, the resource person and Dr. Rekha, the Assistant Director-SAMAGRA were thanked for conducting this program.
