St. Joseph’s P.U. Evening College celebrated the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola on 29th July 2026 with great devotion, enthusiasm, and spiritual joy. The celebration was organized to remember the life, values, and teachings of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), and to inspire students to follow his principles of faith, service, and dedication. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the spread of knowledge, wisdom, and hope. The celebration was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Naveen Kerkatta, Ralong with Fr. Ashwin Cordeiro, SJ, Vice Principal Mr. Bhaskar Y, and other dignitaries, faculty members, and students. The event continued with a meaningful prayer service, followed by the prize distribution ceremony, where prizes were distributed to the winners and participants of various competitions held during the Ignatian Week celebrations. As part of Ignatian Week, students actively participated in various activities such as quiz competitions, sketching, and collage making. These activities encouraged creativity, teamwork, and active participation among students. The Chief Guest delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the struggles, dedication, and achievements of St. Ignatius of Loyola. He encouraged students to face challenges in life with courage, determination, and faith. The Ignatian Week celebrations concluded with a special reflection session by the chief guest who shared valuable insights on Ignatian spirituality and encouraged students towards self-reflection. The programme ended with the singing of the College Anthem, marking the successful completion of the celebration. The event was a memorable experience that strengthened students’ understanding of Ignatian values. The celebration was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Arulappa, whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the entire programme.
