St. Joseph’s Pre-University Evening College organised an insightful and highly engaging talk on Artificial Intelligence, aimed at creating awareness among students about one of the most transformative technologies of the modern era. The session was delivered by Ms. Banu M, Assistant Professor, Dept of Computer Science at St. Joseph's University, Bengaluru who spoke on the theme "Intro to AI: Where Humans Meet Machines." The programme began with an address by Ms. Thara T, the Principal, who welcomed the gathering and introduced the speaker. She highlighted the growing relevance of AI in education, industry, and everyday life, encouraging students to stay informed about emerging technologies. During the session, the speaker explained the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, including how machines learn, process data, and make decisions. She discussed real-world applications of AI such as virtual assistants, self-driving cars, recommendation systems and healthcare field. The talk also touched upon the future scope of AI, emphasising the rapid advancements in machine learning, robotics, and human-computer interaction. To make the session more interactive, she incorporated simple activities and demonstrations that helped students understand how AI models work.
