    St. Joseph's Pre-University Evening College observed the festival of lights, Deepavali, on 18 October 2025. The celebration was conducted in a simple yet elegant manner, reflecting the spirit and cultural significance of the festival. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of lamps at the campus, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and the renewal of hope and positivity. The programme was hosted by Mr. Derick Alan Pinto, Governor of the Student Council, who ensured the smooth flow of the proceedings. Mr. Bhaskar, Vice Principal of the college, addressed the gathering and shared thoughtful insights on the importance of Deepavali. He emphasized the values of harmony, gratitude, and the inner transformation that the festival encourages. The programme concluded with an inspiring message delivered by Shashwath, President of the Student Council. He reminded everyone that Deepavali is not only about lighting external lamps but also about illuminating one's inner self to overcome ego, desires, and negativity. The Deepavali celebration was meaningful and reflective, reaffirming the festival’s message of inner light and positive transformation.
