Drug Abuse Awareness Programme Report

On 26 June 2026, St. Joseph’s PU Evening College (SJPUEC) organised a Drug Abuse Awareness Programme to educate students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and responsible lifestyle. Prof. Harish G Assistant Professor from St. Joseph’s College of Law, Bengaluru delivered the session. The session aimed to create awareness among students regarding the physical, mental, emotional and social consequences of drug addiction. The session highlighted the various forms of drug abuse, the dangers associated with addiction and the importance of making positive life choices. Students were encouraged to stay away from harmful substances, seek guidance whenever required and support friends who may be facing such challenges. The programme also focused on the role of family, educational institutions and society in preventing drug abuse. Interactive discussions and awareness activities helped students understand the importance of self-discipline, mental well-being and peer support. The event concluded with a pledge by the students to remain drug-free and to spread awareness among their friends and community members. The programme was highly informative and inspired students to become responsible citizens and ambassadors of a healthy and drug-free society.
