Graduation Day was celebrated with great pride and joy at St. Joseph’s Pre-University Evening College on 13th February 2026 for the outgoing batch of 2024-26. The programme was hosted by Mr. Arulappa A., Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, and coordinated by Mr. Thippeswamy, Lecturer in the Department of Kannada. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Thippanayaka A., a KAS Officer and Deputy Commissioner for Commercial Taxes. The programme was presided over by Fr. Daniel Fernandes SJ, Rector of St. Joseph’s Institutions and Vice President of Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society. The ceremony began with the graduating students entering the hall with their candles lit, accompanied by the dignitaries. This symbolic procession was followed by a short inter-religious prayer service. The formal programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a warm welcome address delivered by Mr. Govinda Raju T., Lecturer in the Department of English, after which the Chief Guest was felicitated. Students S. Andrew Simon of II SEBA and Nancy J. of II PEBA shared their experiences and fond memories of the past two years. Their speeches reflected gratitude, personal growth, and the strong bond they shared with the institution. In his address, the Chief Guest spoke about his life journey and the struggles he encountered along the way. His inspiring words deeply resonated with the students as he emphasized that hard work cannot be replaced by anything and encouraged them to remain determined in their pursuits. Special awards and recognitions were presented during the programme. Mr. Balaswamy from the Department of Counselling conducted the award segment. The Best Outgoing Student (Arts) award was presented to Mr. Samuel F., the Best Outgoing Student (Commerce) award to Ms. Mamitha, and the Award for Excellence in Volunteer Service was presented to Mr. Shashwath R. Naidu. Addressing the gathering, Fr. Daniel Fernandes SJ encouraged the students to uphold strong values and cultivate a spirit of responsibility and service in their lives. The Oath-Taking Ceremony was led by Ms. Thara T., Principal of SJPUEC, followed by a blessing from Fr. Ashwin Cordeiro SJ. As a symbolic gesture, the Rector handed over the candlelight to Mr. Shashwath R. Naidu, President of the Student Council, who then passed the light to his fellow graduates, symbolizing unity, hope, and responsibility for the future. The programme concluded with a video presentation showcasing memorable moments from the past two years. Mr. Thippeswamy., Lecturer in the Department of Kannada, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the celebration.
